Our final shoot for this Destination Session was one of my favorites of the weekend. Something happens inside these girls by the time they are getting into hair and makeup for the last time. They have this new sense of confidence, and it comes across in their posing and facial expressions. That coupled with the fact that we’re all feeling a little nostalgic as we realize this experience is coming to an end, makes this session even more memorable.
Jensen was a great muse who was down with anything we suggested! I love this edgy take on boho we put together for her last session. She already had the skirt in boots in her personal closet, so we found an amazing and fun bandeau to go with it. Her midsection is amazing, so we needed to show it off! Shoutout to Hannah for those red accents on the face too. So cool.

This metallic look was one of my favorites on Brinley. It coordinated with her bold and fun personality perfectly! I love the illusion of it being a two piece set, and the pleats gave it such nice movement for a photoshoot. And that HAIR. 1″ barrel curls are not recommended for the weak!
We snagged this romper on the sale rack of a local boutique. When boutiques order items, they are often limited in how many of each size they receive. When they have just one of a certain size left, you’re likely to get them at a deep discount! Shop those sales racks, ladies. They aren’t just filled with last season’s goods!
Callie wanted to wear her prom dress for one of her sessions, so I talked her into doing it two ways. The first shot is how Callie styled her look for prom this year. I asked Jordan, our styling assistant, to remove the jewelry and take Callie’s hair down for the final shots. I loved the way it turned out. It’s reminiscent of the perfume ads with Charlize Theron or Natalie Portman lately.
Graceanne is our leggy model, and we embrace it. Seriously though, this girl can wear anything. We found this corset and paired it with simple, structured shorts. I love that they were higher waisted since we were showing so much skin elsewhere. Our lead MUA Hannah suggested I find ear crawlers, and I think they finished this look off perfectly.

I saw myself growing a lot through these styled sessions. I feel like I’m learning the balance in pushing these girls to try new things while making sure we work in some of who they are too. This weekend flowed so smoothly, so I’m excited to say that DS is expanding. We are ready to take on even more, and we can’t wait to show you what that looks like!
See you in October, NYC.
