Cheap vs. affordable…it’s a conversation I have with my clients over and over. We all know that you get what you pay for, so it’s important to invest in quality items at times. I’ve purchased pricier items that haven’t held up after a single wear, and I’ve had $20 tops last through multiple seasons.
My advice when shopping for affordable items:
Check the material. (some seems to hold up better)
Check the seams.
Carefully read the wash instructions.
To be honest, I’m a huge sucker for Forever 21. I love a good splurge too, but I just can’t get the variety I need at such affordable prices, especially when I’m styling for high school and college age girls. We found a lot of Jensen’s NYC wardrobe at Forever 21, and one of my favorites was this cut-out midi dress.
Thank goodness my girls trust me because I often show up to a location with additional accessories they haven’t seen. I found the perfect earrings for Jensen’s red dress at Target the night before I left for NYC.
